Typically, building a model ship in a bottle requires hundreds of hours of patient finicky work, inserting tiny parts individually through the neck of a bottle and cementing them into place.
In this multiple, a model ship has been made from super-absorbent polymer, the same material used for novelty "grow in water" dinosaurs. After pushing it into the bottle and filling it with water, the ship will expand approximately 500% in volume.
